"A Warrior's Spirit"  2019 Framed Charcoal on Canvas The Chickasaw were known as some of the fiercest warriors in all of the Americas and earned the nickname as the "Spartans of the Lower Mississippi Valley." This drawing depicts the portrait of Mr. Eric Smith who is a Chickasaw Artist working in Oklahoma. Eric is an accomplished archer and creates original and traditional weapons. He has a book that talks about his works and has created many traditional arrows for hollywood movies such as The Revenant starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Netflix's new series Seen featuring Jason Momoa. Eric takes pride in his art form and passing along the traditional methods to our youth. Here you see Eric in his traditional dress taking aim using the weapons he made with his own two hands.
