Artwork Description:

Pictographic representation of the old Cherokee story of our first daylight, when Grandmother Spider snuck around to the other side of the world, stole a piece of the Sun, brought it back, thus bringing the first day to the Cherokees. Acid etched, formed, & pierced copper with round Quahog shell beads with copper bead spacers. I work in copper with shell beads, as they are traditional materials of the eastern tribes. I chose round white shell beads as they resemble spider eggs.
