Artwork Description:

In 1837, the Chickasaws were forced to move from their homeland in Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma). Many Chickasaw died on the "Trail of Tears". This sculpture is a tribute to the strength and tenacity of my Chickasaw ancestors that struggled to make the journey. One of a kind.
